Who is responsible
Synapse Network, a Delaware company, decides what is collected here and why. Write to agent@mail.synapsenetwork.co about anything on this page; a person reads it.

What you give us
Applying: your name, email, firm, seat, city, LinkedIn, what you’re looking for, your cheque range, asset classes, sectors and geographies, how you found us, who referred you, and anything you write in the note.
As a member: your mandates, the onboarding answers behind them, what you hold and are hunting, your phone number if you give one, travel you log, your investor-status statement and its date, and anything you send us.
In a deal room: documents you upload, the NDA you sign with your typed name, and a record of every document opened, including who opened it and when.

What we record ourselves
Every email between you and us, including subject, body and attachments, so Synapse Agent can act on replies and a person can pick up a thread.
The city your sign-in appears to come from, worked out from your connection. It is kept private to you, used only to ask whether you’re travelling, and switched off from your profile at any time.
A one-way scrambled form of the address an application arrives from, to spot abuse. Never the address itself.

Why we hold it
To decide admissions, to propose introductions that fit what you stated, to run deal rooms, dinners and the calendar, and to write to you about them. That is the service you asked for.
Where the law requires a basis: performing our agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in running a verified network and keeping it free of abuse. Where consent is the basis, such as your city, you give it by answering and can withdraw it.

What other members see
Until both sides accept an introduction, the other member sees a description of your lane, never your name, firm or contact details. Accepting opens your name and email to that member, and only that member.
On the register, other members see a sealed entry: your seat and number. Dinner invitations describe guests by what they do; names open only once the table is set and you have accepted a seat.
A member who brings a deal sees who asked for access, who signed the NDA, and which documents were opened.

Who else processes it
Vercel (hosting, United States), Supabase (database and sign-in, United States, North Virginia), Resend (sending and receiving our email), OpenAI (reads mandates, applications and replies to draft Synapse Agent’s judgments), TypeSafe (answers narrow yes/no questions about the same material).
They act on our instructions and may not use what they process for their own purposes. Data is held in the United States; if you are in the UK or EEA, that is a transfer abroad, made under the standard contractual clauses these providers offer.
No advertising networks, no analytics trackers, no data brokers. Nothing here is sold.

Cookies
Two, both necessary: one keeps you signed in, one remembers the city already noted for six hours so we don’t ask twice. No advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no banner to dismiss.

How long we keep it
Member records and their introductions for as long as the seat lasts, then seven years, which is how long we keep business and tax records, unless you ask us to erase them sooner. Applications that don’t lead to a seat: two years, in case the conversation restarts.
Email threads and deal-room access records are kept while they matter to the members involved, because they are the account of what was agreed.

Your say over it
Ask us for a copy of what we hold, a correction, deletion, or a stop on a particular use. Members can change or retire mandates, travel and answers themselves, switch city detection off, and set email to a weekly letter or off entirely from any email we send.
We answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EEA and think we have it wrong, you may complain to your data protection authority.

Security
Access is by key, every page behind it checks who you are, and the database refuses to hand one member another’s record. Deal-room documents open watermarked with the reader’s name and email. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will say so.

Changes
When this notice changes materially, members are told by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
Synapse Network is a Delaware company; the registered entity name is added to a member's signed agreement.
